Upcycling - Scandi-style vase

Upcycling - Scandi-style vase
45 minEasy

Just as soft colours create a sense of calm and tranquillity, white creates a flawless, textured look. Give old jam jars a whole new look with FIMO. Clear lines give them a minimalistic and totally Scandi-style feel. And this DIY home decoration is not only timeless, its white colour means it will fit in with any furnishings.

Step-by-step tutorial

You will need approx. half a pack of FIMOair light for a medium-sized jar. Roll this out with the acrylic roller to create a sheet about 0.5 cm thick.

Tip: Work in progress and left-over material should be protected against sun and heat and stored in an airtight container.

Now cover the old vase with the FIMO sheet and smooth over the joins.

Use the modelling tool to create lines, dots and other textures.

When you are happy with your project, leave it to dry at room temperature (approx. 24 hours depending on the thickness of the FIMO) or harden in the microwave for 10 minutes at 600 Watts.

Important: When hardening in the microwave it is essential to include a glass of cold water to prevent overheating.
