Step-by-step tutorial

First take the acrylic roller and roll out 1 block of FIMO soft in raspberry into a sheet about 2mm thick.

Cut off lots of small scraps from the other two colours (peppermint and white) and place them unevenly onto the pink FIMO sheet.
It looks especially good if the colours overlap one another.

Now place a piece of baking paper over the speckled FIMO sheet and roll over with the acrylic roller, applying gentle pressure, to bind the coloured ‘confetti’ to the pink FIMO sheet.

Cut two circles from the FIMO sheet using the larger cutter and cut off the bottom third of each one.

Pierce a hole in the middle of the curved edge using the bead piercing needle.

Pierce a further 3 holes along the straight edge at the bottom to hold the tassels.

Stamp a pattern into the top edge with the reverse end of the bead piercing needle.

Take the acrylic roller and roll out the white block of FIMO into a sheet about 3 mm thick, cut out a circle using the smaller cutter and pierce a hole at the bottom.

Now harden everything for 30 minutes in a preheated oven at 110° C / 230° F on upper and lower heat. Make sure you use an oven thermometer so that you can be certain the temperature stays constant at 110° C / 230° F.

Tip: Work in progress and left-over material should be protected against sun and heat and can be stored in a screw-top jar or in cling film.

To make the tassels, first cut a template out of cardboard. This should be approx. 3cm by 5cm and will help ensure the tassels are even. Use a needle to wrap the embroidery thread repeatedly around the cardboard, pulling it through one of the holes you have pierced. Repeat this step for each tassel.

Wind the thin craft wire around the top of the tassel several times. Bend the cardboard slightly and pull it out.

Then use scissors to cut the bottom of the tassels. If any of the strands are different lengths, use the scissors to cut them to the same length as the others.

Then attach the two pieces (white FIMO circle and colourful pendant section) to each other using jump rings.

Last but not least, stick the ear stud to the white circle with superglue, leave to dry – and you're DONE!
