Governance: Acting responsibly and transparently

Responsible and sustainable business practices are underpinned by strong governance. Integrity, transparency and reliability characterise our business processes and decisions. Our codes of conduct set out clear ethical principles, both internally and throughout the entire value chain. The Compliance Committee strengthens the culture of compliance through clear guidance, communication and training.

Our Code – Living up to our responsibilities

Our Code sets out our shared understanding of responsible and compliant conduct within the STAEDTLER Group.

It summarises our values, ethical principles and clear standards for how we interact with one another, with business partners and with society.

Our Code provides guidance in our day-to-day work and lays the foundation for integrity, trust and responsible conduct.

Management certifications

The quality and environmental management system at our production sites in Germany and Peru is harmonised globally and certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Our German production sites also operate an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001.

Sustainability rating – Ecovadis

We make sustainability measurable and present our progress transparently. That is why we undergo regular assessments by ecovadis. The rating helps us to clearly demonstrate our sustainability activities, build trust and continuously improve.

Business Partner Code of Conduct

The Business Partner Code of Conduct consists of three parts:

Part I is based on the internationally recognised ‘ETI Base Code’. This is modelled on the conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and serves as a framework of reference for good labour practices. Among other things, the Code is used as a basis for social audits and for the development of measures in the field of ethical trade. The provisions contained therein define minimum standards, but not maximum standards.

Part II comprises supplementary requirements that are particularly relevant in relation to legal requirements, such as the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act.

Part III contains an overview of relevant international standards and guidelines.

Whistleblower system

If you wish to report serious breaches of rules or laws, please use our external whistleblowing system, STAEDTLER Integrity Line. It offers employees, customers and business partners the opportunity to report information about unlawful conduct anonymously and transparently. Such reports can help prevent harm to STAEDTLER and its employees. The system is provided by an external service provider to protect the whistleblower’s anonymity.
