What you need
Additionally required:
- OSRAM battery-powered light strip
- Light globe, approx. 17 cm diameter
Step-by-step tutorial
Cut the FIMO block into 6 equal pieces.
Roll out each piece evenly to a thickness of about 3 mm.
💡Tip: If you want to create larger folds later, you can use a second block of FIMO to have more surface area.
Place the rolled-out FIMO pieces directly onto the light globe and gently fold the material. Work your way around the sphere – it’s totally fine if the layers overlap slightly. That’s exactly what gives your lamp its unique look!
If you prefer a smoother, more even surface, you can slightly overlap the FIMO pieces beforehand, roll them together, and then work from one single sheet.
Once you're happy with the shape, bake your lamp at 110 °C for about 30 minutes. Make sure the globe is heat-resistant.
After it has completely cooled, trim the OSRAM light strip to the desired length. Remove the protective film from the adhesive side and stick the strip inside the sphere through the opening.
