Step-by-step tutorial

Print out the template for the background motif and the required letters for your name. Depending on the size of your notebook you can scale the template up or down.

Cut out the necessary letters and glue them onto the paper with the background motif in the correct order.

After you have drawn a few more outlines around your name you can now hatch the back of the paper with the complete motif using a soft pencil. Now you can easily trace it onto the cover of your notebook.

Place the template with the background motif and glued-on lettering with the hatched side facing downwards onto your notebook cover. Secure the sheet of paper with adhesive tape so it will not slip while tracing.

Trace the contours with a sharpened pencil. This is how the motif is transferred to the cover. Remove the template and erase the lines that overlap with others.

Grab the markers and go! Colour your motif with the vivid Lumocolor markers: Use the light shades first and then the darker colours. This will prevent the colours form smearing and creating unwanted colour gradients.

Tip: Give your name lettering a three-dimensional look: Create highlights and light points by not colouring in all areas on the left side of the individual letters.

Use the black Lumocolor marker to trace the contours of your motif and add further details such as hatch lines and dots. Finally, draw in a brick wall behind the motif – just hint that it is there, you do not have to fully colour it.

Tip: These awesome notebooks with an individual graffiti-style lettering are ideal gifts for your friends and family!
