About World Kids Colouring Day

For more than 17 years, World Kids Colouring Day has inspired children around the world to express themselves creatively and give back at the same time. What began as a simple colouring activity is now an international initiative that connects children across international borders through colour, imagination and joy.

In 2026, World Kids Colouring Day celebrates creativity with a theme that children understand and love. "Football, Friends & Colouring Fun" forms a universal language that brings people together and creates moments of happiness full of movement, community and creativity.

The theme for 2026 is "Football, Friends & Colouring Fun"

Football is played and loved all over the world. It stands for team spirit, fairness and friendship. Combined with colouring, football becomes a powerful way for children to express feelings, ideas and stories, without words.

Children can draw football matches with friends, cheering fans, playful moments on the pitch or their very own colourful football world. Each picture shows joy, fantasy and the special moments that connect us with each other.

Education Makes Girls Strong initiative

Some children can go to school every day. Other children can't, even though they would love to learn.

In Malawi, many families do not place emphasis on the girl-child having an education. In addition to the stigma, long distances to school, lack of learning materials or inadequate sanitary facilities often make learning very difficult.

Education changes lives. When girls can go to school and graduate, they gain knowledge, confidence and new perspectives. Education protects girls from early marriage, teenage pregnancy and poverty. It gives them the opportunity to shape their own lives.

That is why STAEDTLER is working with Plan International Germany, to support the 'Education Makes Girls Strong' project in Malawi. The project helps girls stay in school.

By participating in World Kids Colouring Day, children help other children learn. Every picture and every participating product supports projects that enable girls to have a future through education. Education opens doors, it is the first step out of poverty, the beginning of equality and the foundation of every future.
