Promotion of Science and Research

The STAEDTLER-Foundation supports scientific research at domestic universities and universities of applied sciences. Since its inception, it has supported more than 350 scientific projects. Additionally, since 1999, the Foundation has awarded an annual Ph.D. Awards to honor outstanding academic achievements of young scientists.

Creating Space for Innovative Solutions

The STAEDTLER-Foundation champions research that pursues innovative solutions or applies new methods. It aims to be a reliable partner to scientists across all academic disciplines. The Foundation's goal is to grant scientists the necessary freedom, especially during their preliminary research stages.

Focus on Nuremberg Universities

The STAEDTLER-Foundation focuses its support on universities located at its headquarters in Nuremberg. lt has maintained a close partnership with Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and Nuremberg Institute of Technology Georg Simon Ohm (TH Nürnberg) for many years. Since its establishment, the Foundation provided over 14 million euros in funding to support research projects at both universities.

The STAEDTLER-Foundation supports projects across all academic disciplines. Since its inception, it has funded innovative research in fields such as medicine, law, engineering, natural sciences, and the humanities and social sciences.

Ph.D Awards for Excellent Achievements of Young Scientists

In addition to supporting innovative research projects, the STAEDTLER-Foundation is committed to fostering the next generation of scientists in Germany. Since 1999, the Foundation has annually honored ten young scientists from FAU for their outstanding work.

Scholarship program “Deutschlandstipendium” – Nurturing Young Talent

Participation in the Germany Scholarship program enables the STAEDTLER-Foundation to further expand its support for Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen (FAU) and Nuremberg Institute of Technology Georg-Simon-Ohm (TH Nürnberg). This initiative not only supports scientific research projects and doctoral theses, but also fosters young, exceptional talent at the start of their academic careers.

Additionally, over 1 million euros have been invested in health research.
