The night sky – one of nature’s loveliest spectacles

When the stars are twinkling like little diamonds far off in the sky and the shooting stars are rushing by, there is nothing lovelier than sitting outside looking up at the night sky. Bring the feeling of never-ending, tropical summer nights into your home with an easy-to-create home-made night sky.

Shade in the background in various watercolour pencils in blue and red. Then go over the shading with a water brush.

Leave the background to dry and draw in two trees and a half moon with a 0.2 mm pigment liner.

Next, draw little stars on the background using a black pigment liner 0.1, to create an atmospheric night sky. Little dots and speckles add some of the Milky Way to the scene.

Now use a pink watercolour pencil to shade the lower section of the picture and go over the shading once again with a water brush.

Finally, once everything is completely dry, sprinkle lots of little dots in gold metallic marker, to make the night sky really sparkle.
