Drawing motifs on wood - Cutting board with geometric tiger

Drawing motifs on wood - Cutting board with geometric tiger
90 min Medium

A piece of street art for your home! The brightly coloured tiger immediately catches everyone's eye and the geometric patterns won't let go off you.
With the Lumocolor paint markers you can bring rich colors onto natural wooden surfaces and enhance chopping boards, boxes and tabletops with creative street art motifs.

Step-by-step tutorial

Grinding
Before you start your project, sand the surface a little and then wipe off the wood dust thoroughly.

Transfer template
Hatch the back of the template with a soft pencil, turn the paper over and trace all the lines with the hard pencil. You can also use a ruler for the geometric shapes.

Colouring
Now you can start colouring the tiger. Fill the geometric shapes alternately with different colours. Let the coloured areas dry well before you add ink next to them, so the colours don’t mix.

Highlights
Use the black marker to trace the tiger's eyes, snout and mouth to make it look even more dangerous.

Graphic elements
Draw a few more graphic elements around the tiger's head with the hard pencil. In this example, we added abstract soap bubbles, leaves, gradients, and striped fins.

Contour
Finally, you can trace the contours with the black paint marker to make the individual shapes stand out better.
