Step-by-step tutorial

Print the template and cut out the letters at the round mark.

Roll out a block of FIMO soft with the acrylic roller on baking paper to a sheet about 3mm thick.

Tip: Work in progress and left-over material should be protected against sun and heat and can be stored in a screw-top jar or in cling film to protect it from dust and dirt.

Now place a sheet of FIMO leaf metal in gold on the rolled out FIMO soft sheet. Gently roll the FIMO soft with the acrylic roller so that the metal leaf adheres well to the FIMO.

Use the cookie cutter to cut out circles from the FIMO sheet. Naturally, you can adjust the size of the FIMO circles to your napkin size. The bigger your napkins are, the bigger the cookie cutter should be.

Now always place one letter template on a FIMO circle. Each guest gets their own seating card. Always use the first letter of your guest‘s first name.
Use the pointed side of the bead piercing needle to stitch through the centre of each letter.

Remove the template and now use the blunt back of the beading needle to enlarge the holes with circular movements. This is important so that the background can be easily seen and the letter is clearly legible.

Cut a slit for the ribbon with the blade to the left and right of the letter.

Then harden all letters placed flat on baking paper in the oven for 30 minutes at 110° C / 230° F. Let them cool down well afterwards.

Now pull the ribbon through the slits to tie them around the napkin as a place marker.

Happy New Year!
