Japandi Matcha drawing
Japandi is a new home trend and represents a pared-down, simple home (Japan) with a warm and hygge-like feel (Scandinavia). Matcha tea is also from Japan. Matcha is a green tea used in Japanese tea ceremony. All combined creates a great inspirational idea, with which we want to show you how easily you can create puristic wall paintings. Use a soft pencil (Mars Lumograph, 2B) to evenly shade the back of the template motif.
Tip: You can enlarge the template for paper sizes larger than A4.
Place the template precisely (with the front facing up) on the drafting paper. Then trace the outlines and lines using a sharp pencil (HB). This transfers the motif to the paper. Before removing the template, check the bottom corners to see if all the lines have transferred.
Use light grey to draw the steam of the tea. To do this, position the brush tip to the right of the pencil line and then draw along the line. This is how you continue with all the other lines.
Colour the matcha bamboo whisk and spoon with the ochre-coloured brush pen. Use the brush to moisten one half of the matcha bamboo whisk handle with water, then fill in the other half with the thick whisk tip. Blend the ink with the brush. This creates a colour gradient. Trace all further lines with the thin brush tip. Also colour in the spoon like this.
The tea powder gets a warm shade of green. Use the same procedure as for the matcha bamboo whisk handle. Dampen one half with water, apply the green shade to the other half and blend.
After drying, carefully remove all pencil lines with an eraser. TIP: The bowls could also be coloured black, dark grey or dark blue to perfectly match the Japandi-style.
