Step-by-step tutorial

Cut off a quarter of a portion of each of your desired FIMO colours.

Tip: Work in progress and left-over material should be protected against sun and heat and can be stored in a screw-top jar or in cling film to protect it from dust and dirt.

Roll each of the little pieces of FIMO out by hand into a cord about 4 cm long.

Combine three different coloured cords together, creating three-coloured cords. Now twist all the cords.

Then combine four cords at a time and roll them into a thicker cord, creating a great marbled effect.

Twist the thick cord on itself again and then fold it so that you can twist both ends together a further time.

Roll into a thick cord again.

Finally, fold the cord one more time, twist it and shape into a ball.

Press the ball firmly in your hand and form it into a fat olive shape.

Now cut a piece off the olive and press it into the silicon mould, being careful to fill up all the corners.

Then cut the surplus FIMO away using the FIMO blade.

Next, harden the silicon mould and the FIMO in the oven for 30 minutes at 110° C / 230° F. Then leave to cool completely.

Now push the jewel out of the mould and leave to cool again.

To create a lovely finish, coat your FIMO jewels with FIMO gloss varnish.

Now stick the magnetic strips to the back of your magnets.

Tip: Trim them first as necessary.
