Step-by-step tutorial

To begin, fix a sheet of watercolour paper to the table, sticking the edges down with masking tape. Then get an adult to help you cut strips of tape of different lengths. Stick these diagonally over the watercolour paper to create separate areas. Go over each strip with your fingers, pressing it firmly onto the paper, so that no colours will get under it when you start to paint.

Now colour in the areas on the paper completely using Noris junior coloured pencils. It will create an especially pretty colour gradient if you put different colours next to each other.

Wet your paintbrush and paint over all the coloured surfaces with water. The colours will blend into each other and spread over the whole paper.

When the picture is completely dry, carefully remove all the sticky tape.

Now you just have to find the ideal place to hand your colourful masterpiece. It’ll look really good in a picture frame.
