Hygge – Moon garland
The world today never seems to stand still. So it’s all the more important to have a place you can retreat to, where you can escape everyday life for a moment. This fantastic decorative hygge moon garland made from FIMO effect can be created in a very short time, allowing you to dream away as well as guaranteeing your home has the feel-good factor. The crackled effects are especially striking and make it a real eye-catcher.
Step-by-step tutorial
Take 2 blocks of FIMO effect in metallic colour silver and roll out into a sheet about 2 mm thick using the acrylic roller or the clay machine.
Now place the FIMO effect sheet on baking paper. Then lay a whole sheet of silver leaf metal over the sheet and smooth carefully with your fingers.
Now roll over the combined sheets again with the acrylic roller or pass them through the clay machine on setting 3, so that the leaf metal tears (crackles).
When you have finished, the sheet should be approx. 2 mm thick.
Now cut out the templates, lay them on the FIMO sheet and cut out the moons and stars. Remove any surplus clay. Cut out several small strips as well. Then harden in the oven for 30 minutes at 110° C / 230° F and leave to cool.
Varnish the cooled shapes.
Attach the individual shapes to the nylon cord one after the other, linking them together. To do this, place the cord in the middle of the back of each shape and glue a small FIMO strip over it using superglue, trapping the cord between the two pieces of FIMO.
Attach all the other shapes to the cord in the same way, leaving a little space from shape to shape.
