FIMO effect metallic: “Earrings with Mica Shift Effect”

FIMO effect metallic: “Earrings with Mica Shift Effect”
30 min Easy

The FIMO effect Metallic colours are perfect for various creative projects with a mica shift effect. Using this polymer technique, create unique earrings that visually display a raised and recessed surface. Yet this is only an illusion. This mica shift is made possible by the tiny mineral particles that reflect irregularly in the light.

Step-by-step tutorial

Select the FIMO effect Metallic colour of your choice and roll it out into an even, thin sheet using the acrylic roller. In the next step, the sides of the plate must be straightened with the blade. This makes it easy to cut thin and even strips.

Now place the strips next to each other. Note that one strip at a time should be turned alternately, with the cut edge facing upwards.

When you are satisfied with the size of the sheet, place a piece of baking paper on top and roll the acrylic roller over it. This is how the individual strips are connected to form a plate.

Cut thin and even strips again.

Place the individual strips next to each other, staggered. This gradually creates a “chequerboard” look.

Now roll the acrylic roller over the sheet again.

Harden the earrings in the oven at 110 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes and let them cool down. Now all you have to do is complete the individual pieces of jewellery and attach split rings and stud earrings. You can also try to make these earrings using any other FIMO effect metallic colour! Lots of friends doing crafts and wearing their jewellery!
