Step-by-step tutorial

Cut off one portion of each of your desired FIMO effect pastel colours. We used FIMO effect peach, rosé and vanilla. Shape half a portion of FIMO effect peach into a small ball and press into the indentation in your earring blank.

Tips:

  • Before using another colour, make sure that your hands are clean. You should also clean the extruder again after each colour.
  • Work in progress and left-over material should be protected against sun and heat and can be stored in a screw-top jar or in cling film to protect it from dust and dirt.

Now create thin strings from each of the FIMO effect pastel colours. You can either do this by hand, rolling out little sausages very thinly, or else use the FIMO professional clay extruder.

For the latter, knead half a portion of your chosen FIMO colour until it is nice and soft, then push into the clay extruder. Attach the motif disc with the smallest hole and screw it down. Now turn the handle for as long as it takes to extrude the FIMO as spaghetti.

Cut the FIMO string into small, evenly-sized pieces and roll these into little balls.

Now position the balls in a circle on the peach background in your earring blank. These will form the petals for your flower.

Next, shape your petals. To do this, flatten the little balls slightly using a needle placed lengthwise. Once you are happy with your design, harden your FIMO pastel earrings in the oven for 30 minutes at 110° C / 230° F.

Leave your jewellery to cool completely after hardening. Then separate your FIMO design from the blank using a needle and reattach it using superglue.

Tip: Make sure you don‘t use too much superglue, otherwise it will spill out over the edges.
