Hygge bookmark
The Swedish word Lagom means something like “not too much and not too little”. When you have a lagom attitude to life, it means you focus on what really matters. You like to live sustainably, you consciously try to conserve resources, you eat healthily, and you value a harmonious work-life balance. To ensure you always have lagom in mind, create a minimalistic bookmark. And reading is part of hygge, too!

Print off the templates. Shade over the backs of the designs with a soft pencil (e.g. Lumograph 6B).
Place the LAGOM template front side up across the paper sideways and fix it to the top corners using masking tape.
Go over the design with a sharp HB pencil, transferring the design. Before you remove the template, lift it up from the bottom corners to check that you have transferred all the lines. Do the same on the second piece of paper. Then cut out the bookmarks.
Go over the outline of the word “Lagom” using a dark grey triplus color fibre-tip pen. Leave to dry briefly. Use a light grey triplus color fibre-tip pen to place a shadow directly next to the letters, creating a 3D effect.
Take the other piece of paper and go over the first sentence of the saying in light grey.
Write the second sentence in dark grey. Place light grey shadows next to the dark grey letters.
Use a ruler to measure the centre of the top of the bookmark, take the pencil and indicate it with a little dot. Place both pieces of paper exactly on top of each other. Punch a hole through the two pieces of paper in the precise place you have marked.
Fold a piece of silver-grey cord in the middle. Draw the loop you have created through the hole from bottom to top and pass the two ends through it. Tighten the loop carefully, knotting them again if necessary.
