FIMO leather-effect - Fox pouch
This original FIMO leather-effect fox pouch is great for storing small items or money and is also a decorative, homemade accessory that sweetens up your everyday life.
Use the Clay Machine to make the sheet as thin and even as possible. Roll out the FIMO sheet on a medium to medium-thin level (5 or 6).
Start with the thickest setting (level 1). Repeat and roll the sheet thinner and thinner, gradually through levels 2, 4 and finally to level 6. The sheet should be approx. 1.5mm thick at the end. Check whether it is large enough and whether the large template fits completely on the sheet.
Tip: The leather effect stands out even better if you move the FIMO sheet gently by hand after rolling it out, pulling it apart a bit.
Now work directly on baking paper or an ovenproof tile. This is important so that you do not have to lift the FIMO again and risk spoiling the shape. This means that it can later go directly into the oven on the baking paper.
Place the paper template on the FIMO sheet and cut it out with a blade.
Place the rectangular piece of the template centrally and fold all four sides loosely inwards.
Please note:don‘t press too hard, just hang them up loosely! Otherwise it cannot be cut after hardening.
Also roll out from the black FIMO leather-effect block a large thin sheet. There must be space for the two paws. The black sheet should be as thick as the rust-coloured FIMO sheet.
Tip: Work in progress and left-over material should be protected against sun and heat and can be stored in a screw-top jar or in cling film to protect it from dust and dirt.
Now cut out small triangles from the remaining pieces of the rust-coloured sheet and place them on top of the ears.
Roll the rust-coloured FIMO remnants into a string approx. 3mm thick. Cut 8 pieces and shape them into olives with your fingers. Place the paws very close to the edge as the button still has to fit in the middle!
Now harden the loosely folded pouches and the two ears/paws in the oven at 130 °C / 266° F for 30 minutes at upper/lower heat. Use an oven thermometer for this purpose.
Then allow everything to cool down well.
Unfold the pouch and remove the inner paper. Use the hole punch to punch out a hole in the top flap at the very front first.
Make sure that the hole is far enough forward that all four layers are still below it. Also make a hole in each paw.
Now use the Lumocolor non-permanent marker on the pouch to draw the next hole through the first hole.
Punch the hole in the 2nd layer. Proceed with the 3rd and 4th hole in the same way. Now all 4 holes should lie exactly above each other.
Now also attach the top of the button to the top flap. The two parts should now fit together perfectly.
Now place the paws where they should be attached later. Use the Lumocolor to mark the spot for the button on the pouch through the hole in the paw again. Again, make sure that the button does not lie too close to the edge.
