Step-by-step instructions

Unroll
Unpack the FIMO leather-effect half blocks, cut off an approx. 1 cm wide part of the ivory-coloured FIMO with the blade and roll it out with the acrylic roller. Divide the nut and rust-coloured FIMO with the blade lengthwise into two thinner blocks and roll them out with the acrylic roller. Use the clay machine to obtain uniformly thick sheets, guide the FIMO through the machine again and again and reduce the material thickness up to level 6. Pull the sheets apart at the end to make the FIMO leather-effect more flexible.

Making the fox
Cut off a third of the rust-coloured FIMO and place it on a piece of baking paper. You can use the short side of the blade to emboss the contours of a fox into the FIMO leather-effect. Be careful not to press too deep into the mixture. For the coloured details of the fox, such as the snout, ears and tip of the tail, take small pieces of ivory and nut-colored FIMO and press them gently into place.

Perforate the details
Divide the nut-coloured FIMO with the blade so that you get two rectangles in the sizes 11 x 6 cm and 10 x 12 cm. Now perforate the top and bottom edge with a beading needle so that you can easily sew the parts by hand after hardening.

Hardening
Put all the parts on baking paper and harden the FIMO in the oven for 30 minutes at 130ºC.

Draw
As the FIMO hardens, you can design your shopping bag or another textile with the double fibre-tip pens to your liking. Draw a diamond with a pencil and draw vertical lines. Take the black felt tip pen and draw logs, branches and the lower half of the diamond. Now you can colour the coniferous trees with the green felt tip pen. Once the patches have been applied, we will add more details in orange.

Cut out the patch
Once the FIMO has cooled down, cut out the shape of the fox with a pair of scissors at a slight distance. For the pen holder, cut a rectangle to a size of 9.5 x 5 cm cleanly. Cut out two semicircles with a radius of 4.5 cm for the corners.

Sewing
Now all you have to do is sew all the pieces together. Place the fox on the motif you have drawn and sew it in place with a needle and thread. Always start in the corners and sew relatively large stitches. Gently fold the semicircles into quarter circles and sew them into the corners of the bag. Make sure that you do not fold the FIMO completely, otherwise it may break. Proceed in the same way with the pen holder.

Borders
Lastly, add a few graphic borders with the orange textile double-fibre pen.

You’ll love taking this bag with you when you go shopping!
