FIMO leather-effect Mini flask
The perfect companion
A personalised flask is an original gift idea. It can be customised for a visit to the Oktoberfest, for hiking enthusiasts or for a wedding. Whether you go for embossed lettering, decorative stitching or a simpler look, you can design it however you like. Matched with your outfit, it can’t help but be a real eye catcher.
Step-by-step tutorial
Roll a block of FIMO leather‑effect in lagoon out into a thin sheet (clay machine setting 8) and cut out a long strip that is slightly larger than your flask.
The leather effect stands out even better if you move the FIMO sheet gently by hand after rolling it out, pulling it apart a bit.
Lay the FIMO leather‑effect sheet flat on the baking paper and harden in the oven for 30 minutes at 130 °C / 266° F on upper and lower heat.
Tip: Work in progress and left-over material should be protected against sun and heat and can be stored in a screw-top jar or in cling film to protect it from dust and dirt.
Now take the exact measurements of the flask: in this example they‘re 10 cm x 3.7 cm.
Transfer the dimensions to the FIMO leather-effect sheet using the Lumocolor non-permanent.
Cut the sheet to the exact size with the scissors.
If you can still see any pen marks, simply remove them with a damp baby wipe.
Sew your desired decoration onto the FIMO leather-effect sheet by hand or using the sewing machine.
Place the finished FIMO leather‑effect sheet around the flask and stick it down firmly with the superglue. Cut off the excess ends.
Cheers!
