FIMO Symposium 2015: PRELUDE TO THE 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION AT A CZECH WINERY
Our oven-hardening modelling clay FIMO will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year. A pre-taste of the celebrations to take place in 2016 already occurred in the exclusive artists' circle at the FIMO Symposium in the Czech Republic. Almost 80 FIMO fans from a total of 14 countries received tips from professional artists between 9 and 12 September at a winery in the Czech Republic.
This year, the Czech Republic was the epicentre of the international polymer clay scene for the first time. The 4th FIMO Symposium 2015 took place here – at the picturesque "U Kapličky" winery, which is nobly enthroned on a vineyard in the south of the Czech Republic, close to the Austrian border.
This romantic backdrop hosted 78 FIMO enthusiasts from 14 countries in order to exchange techniques over four days in the comfortable late summer ambience at hands-on workshops. An additional highlight was the evening event on 11th September, which looked forward to the 50 year anniversary of FIMO. A firework, dancing and an impressive FIMO cake rounded the evening off.
Artistic inspirations with Vision
The fantastic view of the bordering Dyie Reservoir offered the perfect atmosphere for creative clay days with a colourful framework programme with a professional offer: The internationally renowned FIMO artists Natalia García de Leániz, Nikolina Otržan, Eva Hašková and Judy Belcher shared exclusive tips and tricks on the oven-hardening clay.
Participants had the possibility of catching up on the latest trends and familiarising themselves with modelling techniques. Whether "cheerful bracelets", "knitting with polymer clay", "spiral pendants" or "3D earrings": Four workshops offered the opportunity to trial new techniques under the skilled guidance of the respective expert.
Nils Henssen, Head of Marketing for the Hobby&Creative products at STAEDTLER: "It is incredibly exciting to see the new techniques and ideas which our FIMO modelling clay continuously inspires in artists. The FIMO Symposium gives us the unique opportunity to come face to face with artists and professionals, a target group which is important to us, and which allows us to identify new trends.”
