World Kids Colouring Day – young minds, big ideas!
STAEDTLER initiated the World Kids Colouring Day in 2008. Ever since, the company and more than 20 of its subsidiaries and agencies have been celebrating the 6th of May as a day when parents and children are reminded to pick up their pencils and pens and start colouring again.
This year too, the World Kids Colouring Day will be held on the 6th of May. Under the motto ‘Young minds, big ideas’, children the world over are invited to make up picture stories and put them to paper. STAEDTLER sees the event as a means for highlighting the fun to be had colouring and drawing and for giving parents tips and tricks for family colouring get-togethers. “We want the World Kids Colouring Day to help children discover the joy of being creative – which, in turn, will lead to them developing skills they’ll be able to profit from their whole life long”, Axel Marx, Managing Director of the STAEDTLER Group, explains.
STAEDTLER is focussing this year on the importance of colouring and drawing and providing information on the positive effects that the use of pencil and paper can have on a child’s development. Not only has STAEDTLER prepared scientific dossiers on the topic, the company has also consulted experts specialising in this field.
