Decorative Easter eggs made of FIMO leather-effect

Minimalist Easter egg decorations
Easter time is craft time. And what’s a must-have for Easter? Easter eggs, of course.
These minimalist Easter eggs come in a leather look. They are quickly and easily made from FIMO leather-effect. Whether in soft pastel colours or in simple chic nudes, you can mix almost any desired colour from FIMO leather-effect and thus match the eggs perfectly to your home decor.

To make four eggs, you need one FIMO leather-effect block in the colour of your choice. We chose the colour ivory, as well as a pink tone mixed from the colours ivory and berry.
For the pink mix, use one portion of FIMO leather-effect berry with two portions of FIMO leather-effect ivory. Knead the two colours together until a uniform color shade has been created.
Now roll the FIMO with the acrylic roller into a thin plate (approx. 2 mm thick). On one side, the plate should be approx. 16 cm long.
For the perfect leather-like effect, carefully pull the FIMO plate apart with your hands.
Harden the sheets in the desired colours by lying them flat on baking paper and harden them in the oven for 30 minutes at 130°C / 265 °F top/bottom heat and then let them cool down properly.

Now use the ruler to draw 4 strips per egg. Each strip should be 16 cm long and 1 cm wide. Use the scissors to cut the strips. If markers are still visible on the FIMO, you can simply wash them off with water or remove them with a damp baby wipe.

Then shorten 2 strips by 1.5 cm.
Using the Lumocolor non-permanent marker, draw a mark at each end and another mark exactly in the middle of the strip.

Take your cord and tie a knot at the end. Now thread the 4 strips, always pulling the cord through the hole in the middle. Start with the two longer strips followed by the two shorter ones.

Now take the short strip on top and bend both ends towards each other. Thread the cord through the two holes in the ends to create an egg shape. Glue the ends together with superglue so that the strips stick together well.

Repeat this step with the strips underneath. This gradually creates the egg shape. Finally tie the cord to a small hanging loop and your leather-look Easter decoration is ready!
